Registration & Costs

Two people talking

College Edge students register and pay for the program separately from regular Autumn quarter tuition. There are also specific requirements and policies for other aspects of the program, such as advising and orientation, credits, grades, drops and withdrawals.

Registration

All incoming UW Seattle first-year and transfer students are eligible—no separate application required.

You can browse course options and register directly through the College Edge website. Please note:

  • First-year discovery seminars are designed for incoming new first-year college students.

  • Transfer discovery seminars are designed for incoming transfer students.

Advising & Orientation

All College Edge students must complete Parts 1 and 2 of UW Advising & Orientation before their College Edge class begins to avoid missing class time.

For details or help exploring A&O options, visit the UW New Student & Transfer Programs website.

Tuition Rate

Enrollment in College Edge costs $2,500, or $2,950 if you add the optional 1-credit ARTSCI 150 D course. The tuition rate is the same for in-state, out-of-state, and international students.

The program fee includes:

  • Tuition for a 5-credit UW course
  • $55 non-refundable Continuum College registration fee
  • $100 non-refundable program deposit
  • Instructional costs for the 5-credit course
  • Early UPASS activation for public transportation
  • Program events and academic advising support

Adding ARTSCI 150 D includes an additional $450 fee.

Once you submit your College Edge course preferences, you will be enrolled and the full program fee ($2,600 or $3,050) will be billed to your student tuition account. This charge is in addition to Autumn quarter tuition and will appear as a PCE–Continuum College charge in late August 2026.

Housing is not included in the College Edge fee. Students who want to live on campus during the program must secure Early Autumn Quarter Housing through UW Housing & Food Services.

Financial Aid

If you have applied for financial aid for the coming academic year, you may submit a Revision Request Form to the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) to request additional support for College Edge. OSFA will determine whether your aid package can be increased.

Students are automatically considered for a limited pool of College Edge need-based scholarships. If a scholarship is not awarded, many students qualify for additional loans (student or parent).

If you receive financial aid, you may defer payment for College Edge until Autumn quarter, when aid is disbursed.

Students using a GET 529 plan must send funds by submitting the Direct Payment Request Form and selecting UWPCE as the payee.

Credits & Grades

All College Edge courses:

  • Are graded

  • Are worth 5 credits

  • Count toward your Autumn quarter credit load

  • Count toward your UW GPA

Refer to the College Edge website for more details about policies regarding credits and grades.

Drops & Withdrawals

Students must submit a formal request to withdraw from College Edge. Visit the College Edge website for step-by-step instructions on dropping or withdrawing from a course.
