student giving a presentation in college edge

If you're an incoming first-year student at the University of Washington Seattle campus, you do not need to complete a separate application to enroll in College Edge. Simply follow the registration steps below.

Registration Timeline

  • Opens: May 1, 2025

  • Limited Seats: Courses have a maximum of 25 students—early registration is encouraged!

Registration Steps

Step 1: Confirm Your UW Enrollment

  1. Log into your First Year Checklist.

  1. Confirm your commitment to UW and pay your Enrollment Confirmation Deposit (ECD).

  1. Verify completion of this step on the UW admissions website.

Step 2: Explore Course Options

  • Review available Discovery Seminar and English 108 courses on the College Edge website.

  • Make note of several courses of interest and select your top choice.

Step 3: Register for a Course

  1. Click the "Register now" button on your chosen course page.

  1. Follow the prompts to enter your information and agree to pay the College Edge program fees. The $2400 fee includes your non-refundable $55 registration fee and a $100 program deposit.

  2. You have the option to add in the 1-credit additional course, ARTSCI 150D: AI, Learning, and Early Career, which is an additional $400 charge. This will mean enrolling in a total of 6-credits during College Edge and paying a total of $2800.

  3. Refer to your UW email to receive information on next steps.

Step 4: Registration & Payment

  • PCE-Continuum College will process your registration and add tuition charges to your UW student account.

  • The course (or courses, if you also add ARTSCI 150D) will appear as part of your Autumn Quarter 2025 schedule.

  • The $2,400-$2,800 program fee will be billed on August 27, 2025. The College Edge program tuition is in addition to your regular Autumn quarter tuition.

  • College Edge is a self-sustaining program. Financial aid and tuition waivers may not apply—consult the UW Financial Aid Office for details.

Step 5: (Optional) Apply for Early Housing

  • If you plan to live in a UW residence hall, submit your Early Autumn Quarter Housing application starting May 5, 2025.

  • Earlier applications have more housing options available.

Step 6: Receive Confirmation

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email once registered.

  • A second email will notify you when your College Edge course appears in MyUW.

You will receive notification to your UW email address when you are officially registered by PCE Continuum College. See the costs and financial aid page for details.
