All College Edge students are required to attend an Advising & Orientation (A&O) session before their C.E. course begins. These sessions give you the chance to meet with an academic adviser and learn about the many UW resources and services available.

Completing Advising and Orientation

As a new first-year student, you can register for an College Edge course before attending your Advising & Orientation (A&O) session. However, you must complete your A&O session in order to register for autumn quarter courses. There are many A&O sessions offered throughout the summer. Visit the First Year Programs Advising & Orientation site to reserve your spot.

All new undergraduate international students will also be invited to attend a UW welcome event hosted by the Center for International Relations & Cultural Leadership Exchange (CIRCLE). Visit CIRCLE for more information about their plans to welcome you as a first-year international student to the UW.

Additionally, all international students will need to complete the New Student Post-Arrival Checklist once you physically arrive in the U.S. You don't need to come in person to complete check-in, but you're required to submit copies of immigration documents online, as well as update your local address through your MyUW account and register full-time for autumn quarter.

More Advising Resources
